WhoDat Help
WhoDat is a utility for determining if a domain name is registered, and by whom, by making it easy to use the “WhoIs” command. You can also use WhoDat to get official internet time and adjust you computer to match the official time.
You must have an active internet connection to use WhoDat.

Domain Enter a domain name to test. You can use the form www.XXXX.yyy where ‘XXXX’ is the domain name, and ‘yyy’ is the domain, i.e. “.com” or “.net”, etc. You can also use the form XXXX.yyy without the leading “www”.
Domain Selector Click the down arrow to select from previously entered domain names. WhoDat maintains this list of the names that you test.
Look Up Click this button to look up the domain name entered. The results will be displayed in the lookup results window.
Navigate To Click this button to navigate to the listed domain name using your default browser.
Clear Current… Click this button to remove the currently displayed domain name from the list.
Clear All… Click this button to remove all domain names from the list.
Clear Lookup… Click this button to clear the lookup results window.
Select a WhoIs… Select one of the 9 default WhoIs servers to use when looking up a domain name. You can also change the list of 9 default servers by editing the “WhoDat.ini” file located in the WhoDat installation directory. Exit WhoDat prior to editing this file.
Enter a WhoIs… Select this button to enter your own WhoIs server to use in the field below. You can also change the list of 9 default servers by editing the “WhoDat.ini” file located in the WhoDat installation directory. Exit WhoDat prior to editing this file.
Date and Time Select one of the 9 default Time servers to use when retrieving the Internet Time. You can also change the list of 9 default servers by editing the “WhoDat.ini” file located in the WhoDat installation directory. Exit WhoDat prior to editing this file.
Enter a time… Select this button to enter your own Time server to use in the field below. You can also change the list of 9 default servers by editing the “WhoDat.ini” file located in the WhoDat installation directory. Exit WhoDat prior to editing this file.
Get Time Click this button to get the internet time from the selected server.
Set Time Click this button to set your system time to match the internet time from the selected server.
Style Select a style of displaying the internet time inside WhoDat. This does not affect how your system displays the time.
Help F1 Display the online help. Click this button or hit the F1 key.
About Click this button to open a window with information about WhoDat, including a link to our web site.
Tips When checked, popup tips will be displayed when your cursor hovers over buttons.
